Many firms use case management systems and they have their uses in ensuring that you do not drop the ball or at least if you do drop the ball that you know what ball has been dropped, when it was dropped and who is to blame for dropping the ball. All very good but useless if you have a shiny new case management system but know one knows how to use it. Best ask!
