Attending the ALG Seminar

I am a sucker for a good seminar. I have started to give talks to a number of Property Forums and really enjoy the interaction with like minded people who are trying to get ahead in the property game. I gave one recently to The Property Leverage Group on the changes in bank's lending criteria that are affecting Portfolio Landlords - those with four or more properties. On topic, relevant information that the industry needs to grapple with moving forward. Over the next couple of years there is going to be a lot of pain for these landlords if they are unable to pass the various tests that the lenders have now set. If you know of any group who would like to hear the seminar then get in touch and I would be delighted to come along and speak directly to the assembled masses at no charge!
Back to ALG.

The room was filled to the gunnels as the pictures will testify. Jane Buchanan, Andy Summer and Sean McIntyre were our hosts for the evening. I thought that the evening was well organised and ran like clockwork. There was the obligatory networking before and after with a talk given by Matt Donnelly senior Partner at AD+ Accounting on the tax changes affecting industry - he knows his onions! Matt did cover the topic in his own inimitable style and threw in a couple of personal gems - I did like the one about his trip to Naples and the one about his wife being a sexual deviant bears a retell but I will leave Matt to do that! The evening petered out with the usual call to arms for the next meeting and the softest of soft sells for their course. Overall, I think that it is one of the better seminars out there and at a fiver a skull what's not to like! This was the view of those that I spoke to after the meeting.

My three take aways from this ALG event were
Be prepared to take part - the evening is as much about networking as it is about listening to a talk
There is little or no reference to an upsale - just a short two minute video at the end
Go with an open mind - they do offer a free all day Fresher's Course - food for thought on whether the BTL game is for you
It would be great to get feedback from anyone else that attended last week.
